Christopher Schultz spent four years as a logistics officer in the Navy, learning the ins and outs of government contracts. After the Navy he made his living as a writer and editor and entrepreneur (he co-founded Easy Laundry, a laundry and dry-cleaning delivery service that served college towns in the South). Chris founded Start Here in 2004 after successfully securing government contracts worth more than $10 million for clients. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Esquire, People, ESPN: The Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Men´s Journal, Cure, and other publications.
"Start Here became immersed in what we did — learned to speak and think and — here’s the thing — make judgment calls just like we would — and then went out and flat out worked until our project was done. I’ll never use anyone else but Start Here."
"We were aware of the opportunity in government contracts, but did not know where to start. Start Here led us through the process with patience and professionalism and got us where we needed to be."
"Start Here provides not only excellent writing and communication skills, but is also expert at conveying complex messaging through graphics and illustrations. Their adeptness in taking an idea to reality helped a time sensitive and politically charged annual report come to fruition on-time and within budget; they managed to create a document that pleased all parties."
"Start Here is fantastic and totally humbled me in my prior opinion that no one else could write about our work. My list now has a single entry: Start Here Project Development."
"Their work is so strong that Start Here now manages our development and our marketing/communications operations."
